Murid (Urdu: مريد ) is a town located in Chakwal District, Punjab, Pakistan. Murid is located 10 km west of Chakwal. Murid is the second largest town in the district Chakwal, with a population over 14,000. This village is believed to be founded by the Raja Murid, a brother of Chaudhry Chaku Khan, founder of Chakwal in sixteenth century C.E.
